Reading Binance timestamps

Binance's Spot API returns time fields in milliseconds by default, so a value such as 1800000000000 has 13 digits. That one is 08:00:00 UTC on 15 January 2027. Kline open times, trade times and order times all use this form.

This page starts on the Crypto setting, which shows UTC. Use the exchange menu to see the same moment in another market's time.

Microsecond timestamps

If you send the header X-MBX-TIME-UNIT: MICROSECOND, Binance returns 16-digit values instead. Paste one above and the converter detects it as microseconds and keeps all six decimal places.

Building a request

Parameters such as startTime, endTime and timestamp take the same units. To build one, open the Date → Epoch tab, enter a UTC date and time, and copy the milliseconds value.

A signed request also fails if its timestamp is too far from Binance's server time, and a wrong computer clock is a common cause. Compare your value with the live time at the top of this page.

Other exchanges

Crypto markets trade around the clock, so the status shows “Open 24/7”, although individual exchanges can pause for maintenance. Many other exchange APIs also use millisecond timestamps, so this works for them too. Trader Epoch isn't affiliated with Binance.
